A recent Reddit thread in r/AskONLYWomenOver30 revealed fascinating insights into which professions women tend to approach with caution when dating. While individual experiences vary, clear patterns emerged that align with broader sociological research on relationships and career compatibility.

Law Enforcement: The Most Cited Concern

The most frequently mentioned profession women expressed hesitation about was law enforcement. As one respondent noted, “Police. The domestic violence statistics are too high.” This concern isn’t unfounded — studies have shown that domestic violence is 2–4 times more common in police families than in the general population, according to research by the National Center for Women and Policing.

“Had a friend who dated a cop. The controlling behavior started small but escalated quickly,” shared another user, highlighting a common theme of power dynamics affecting personal relationships.
